Ok so Idecided to pick this old abused sony and practive some soldering and troubleshooting skills.

I set it up and found the pre-amp totally non functional... Im hoping its jsut a power supply problem.

The main amps work..... barely.... lots of noise and breaking up.. (capacitors?)

anyway here are the pics. I'm going to strip and clean this weekend. I'll also just fix any obvious dry joints etc.

Notice the badly proken PC board.... I might just replace it. for now it seems to be functional.

The other thing it that the output transistors on the 1 chanel ave been replaced with the more modern looking type. I'll check for the data sheets and decide on what to do with it.

The ide is to practice with this one. It also need me to do a respray on the cassis and fabricate some convincing looking replacement knobs.

If you interested here is some info.
