Sound proofing and neighbours?

Morning All

Whats the easiest way to sound proofing a room? Had a chat with my neighbour yesterday about his barking dog only to hear that my system rattles their windows - about 10-15m away... there is a boundary wall about 3min from where my fronts are situated.

I'm not listening to loudly, usually around -10db on my Onkyo 807 with RTi A9's, etc...

My first step will probably be to put some sort of tree's along the boundary wall in pots, but these will obviously take awhile before they grow to be effective.
