Hey Guys,
One a month, the Sound Quality (SQ) car audio guys get together and listen to each others cars and provide feedback and constructive critisism. We dont pay to attend, its all free will and basically we enjoy music, have a good time and educate eachother.
Car audio is often misunderstood as black taxi music... meaning booming bass, and 6X9's (6X9's for those who do not know are 6" X 9" speakers where the midbass and tweeter are joined). The truth is that its not that at all. Its replicating the concert experience by focusing images and creating a stage on your dashboard.
We actually have a couple of car audio companies which handmake their stuff and can cost in the region of over R1 000 000 (Critical mass electrostats) and Rainbow Audio Referance line which are handmade ribbon tweeters and cost around R120 000. There are some home audio companies which make car audio aswell, such as Focal, Morel, DLS.
Car audio is much easier to focus an image then home audio, however being in an enclosed environment (Car) it feels like the image is smaller then home audio. For more information on what exactly car audio is, please read this article by Anthony Forgey:

Our unconfirmed workshop date is the 4th October and the unconfirmed location is the Heathway shopping centre on Beyers Naude drive. Ill let you guys know of confirmed dates and location when they are confirmed.
To help grow our small car audio community, I ask that you guys all attend... even not as car audio fanatics, but as audiophiles who can simply appreciate audiophile music and experience what exactly SQ is!
Uncle Sam is a regular attender and has some nice car audio goodies of his own, ill post up some pics of the last workshop so you guys get an idea of what to expect.
