Source of melamine or formica veneer

I want to try covering my speakers in a different material to the usual wood veneer.

I thought I'd try an artificial veneer surface, probably black.

I've been googling for hours trying to find a supplier of such a thing, but I can't even find the proper name for it, let alone a supplier.

Any suggestions in Gauteng?
