Speaker Advice

Hi.

I'm new and require some advice.

I'm looking to upgrade my speakers and would like some opinion on choices.

I have a sony str da3300es receiver, and am looking at the B&W 684 floorstanders.

I've read that the sony is a "bright" amp, and should ideally be hooked up with warm / neutral speakers.

I'm also looking at the option of using a preamp to drive the front speakers (for music).

Am I on the right track, or are there other options that I can consider?
