As someone whose love of AV comes has distinct studio origins, I've always preferred the simplicity of studio monitors. I'm only now getting into passives and I'm intrigued by the possibilities of making my own cables for them, but sleeves, banana plugs, heat shrink and speaker wire just don't seem all that available in the local market.
Where should I be shopping? What gauge wiring should I use? And is bricks and mortar maybe better than online for this? If so, which retailer in Cape Town stocks these these items?
