I have my Pioneer A209 (thanks Naughty!) and my Marantz AR4003 (thanks AzzKikr!) -- but I really prefer the Pioneer for stereo listening (it seems to have more low-end oomph). I'd like to keep everything hooked up in a nice convenient way.
I tried the connect pre-amp outs of the AV receiver to the Pioneer, but it's not a great solution, lots of signal path, and having to be careful with the Pioneer's volume knob as it needs to be left at pretty much max at all times (risky). None of the "line out" outputs of the V receiver work (i.e. tape out, CD out, etc - what's the story here?).
So the other option is hook up everything to AV receiver as normal, and hook up my CDP to Pioneer via line cables (via optical to AV receiver so as not to have loops), and then just swap the speaker cables when I need to.
Can either construct a little box with terminals and big ol' DPDT switches, or just have binding posts and banana plugs.
I'm sure I saw a design for a 'speaker switch' on the forum but for the life of me can't find it.
Thoughts?
