I started looking for better front speakers. Currently I use my OLD B&W dm302's with a LCR3 centre. The amp is a Marantz NR1504. In stereo this combination is good. Lacks base but that is obvious why its not there...
Yesterday I had a listen to B&W 685 s2 and Monitor Audio Bronze 2 bookshelfs. The MA's sounded better than the B&W's. This morning I had a listen to Boston A260's, good mids but the base was not very good. Sounded uncontrolled. So far I prefer the MA as their quality suits me and I have a sub for low end. BUT I WANT floor standers.
So what can I look at for about R7000 (wife enforced budget)? I'll visit shops and such to get a good demo and when I have narrowed it down, will take my equipment to do the real test.
