After 4 years my search for the perfect AV unit came to an end. Only problem is it's not perfect and it can't house any equipment inside the stand itself but its a perfect match for the rest of the lounge and the wife loved it.

I will now be stacking the pre and power amp on top of each other and they will be place on top of the TV stand.
My question is thus, "Will stacking equipment cause extra heat build up and is recommended at all?" or should I just place the stuff side by side.
