So I come from the generation that grew up with cassettes and cds :O0: so I must've just missed the turntable phase, although we did have turntables in the family in the early 90's, I have no memory of them being used since the advent of cd's. That said, I do have a small collection of records that I would like to put into use purely for for the nostalgia and maybe it'll turn into a new hobby :flame:
What would you guys recommend as a good starter turntable? I have been spending the better part of the last few weeks reading up as much as I can on turntables. Aesthetically I'm looking for something that won't look out of place next to my modern day Marantz amp. I've been looking at the likes of entry level Rega's and Pro-Ject turntables although I'm a little reluctant to spend that much on my first turntable, hence I've been scouring the classifieds and gumtree in the hopes that something will catch my eye. I would greatly appreciate some advice on what I should look out for and get some recommendations. Will post an ad in the wanted section once I'm ready to buy, but if anyone has something for sale that will suit my needs feel free to pm me for consideration.
