I'm building a basic system to play records and occasionally provide some extra sound during movies.
So far I have a crappy Blaupunkt record player (can't find a model on it anywhere), an Audiolab 8000a amp (only one channel is working - is there a decent repairman in Durban?) and some Wharfedale Delta 30 bookshelf speakers.
Apart from finding someone to fix the amp, I need some serious advice on where to find a reasonably priced decent turntable. What should I be looking for and what should I be paying? I'm on a tight budget, probably less than R1000.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
