Having pretty much decided on a new Jelco SA-750LB arm for my Lenco build, the time has now come to look at phono cartridges.
Options include Ortofon Quintet Red/Blue and Denon DL-103R.
I am new to moving coils, only have MM's at this stage. What is the difference between a step-up transformer and a MC phono, or do I need both?
