This winters "proper" storm has lasted two days and was accompanied by a high tide and gale-force winds

Plenty of flooding in the South Peninsula

We're half-way down the peninsula and have had 105mm rain. Friend in Daisy Way in Newlands had 202mm and the river at Paradise Road is flooding, just below her house.  Her neigbour's front verge disappeared

In Kalk Bay Main Road, the water was 200mm deep and 30 shops became flooded (picture)

Yesterday, a neighbour woke up to what sounded like a car crash.  Being still dark at 7.00am he could not see.  A large portion of a steel roof, painted with BP yellow and green and a sign attached, landed in his yard, sliced through the boundary wall and some small trees and is embeddded 600mm in his lawn.  The BP garage is about 500m away.  The steel is full of rust holes, so did not take much lifting
