Strange Garrard TT - worth anything?

I found this old Garrard TT at work (ex Psychology laboratory equipment). It's already been modified (with an aluminium undertray) and is labelled "Laboratory Series Automatic Transcription Turntable - LAB 80."

Does anyone know what this is or whether it would be any good for audio?
