Netflix pioneered the series that were meant to be binge watched. It then seemed that all streaming services cottoned on to the fact this is how young people want to consume their content. For me this alwyas left me with a big empty void once you cracked through an entire series in a weekend (Daredevil, Witcher etc). You get that empty feeling like the people in the end of Truman Show.
However, in more recent times the rise of social media has meant that people seem to be only watching the series that everyone is gushing about on the "Social Platforms" . So in an effort to keep series relevant for a longer period of time msot of the services are going to old way of weekly episode drops.
