Sub switching off at low volume

Hi. I have a Velodyne sub with auto cut off and is hooked up to a Denon X2400h. If I watch at low volumes, the sun doesn't turn on. This is annoying at night when I can't have volume high but still need that low bass. Never had this issue with my previous Monitor Audio. Please help
