This has been a regular problem I'm finding with my subwoofers.
The driver I've established is not damaged but it sounds like it is because the massive air flow though the port is audible (and stong enough to move curtains). I've got this problem with an 8" and 10". The 8" is downfiring and I've had to raise it slightly as there's the "blaapht" sound where the air get's trapped.
Worse is the Yamaha NSW900 sub (500W). It has two relfex ports and really moves an incredible amount of air which makes it very noisy.
Are these design flaws (which I doubt) or is it just turned up too high.
