I don't prefer the heavy exaggerated bass like I did in my younger days so I find these mild and very enjoyable to listen to. Gains are set at half way across both and they add a nice subtle lower end to the listening experience. I have found that dependant on the recording quality greatly affects the quality of the mid and low end bass on my system. Can't offer a comparison because I've owned no other brands ito subs. If I replaced, it would be svs. If money wasn't an issue, it would be REL purely from the reviews.My system is stereo, btw.</blockquote>
