Hey guys

The time has come for me to change speakers. Don't know if that is a good thing though........

Im moving into my own place which will have a smaller lounge and sadly i know it wont be suitable for my current speakers. I own Jamo D590's , D8 centre, D8 surrounds and a custom Cerwin Vega subwoofer

The Jamo D590 Concerts are some of the best floorstanders i have ever heard, thus being the reason i have kept them for so many years and not wanted to upgrade or even thought about it but due to circumstances i must make plan as i know they like space and i will not achieve the same results in a small room

I am looking for suggestions on new speakers. Now i know most will say i should go demo but i thought i could get a head start here by sharing what my music types and speaker tastes are and be lead into the right direction....or close

Before the Jamos i owned the B&W 600 S3 series speakers. B&W 603 S3, B&W 602 S3 and LCR600 to be exact. This setup was "ok'ish" for movies but never really satisfied as i disliked the tweeter so much. One had to put them too loud for them to come alive but at these levels the tweeter was not tolerable. I had them running off a Denon so im not sure if it was perhaps a bad pairing. After that i bought the Jamos and it was a day and night difference to me. The soft dome tweeter was much more pleasing to the ears and they stayed balanced at low and loud listening levels. They were also much better for music.

I hope that helps in explaining what type of sound i am after??  :p

I have also auditioned Polk Audio RTi speakers, comprised of the floorstanders and bookshelves and centre. They were lovely for movies but couldnt quite handle louder listening levels as the tweeter becomes too bright and the centre speaker resonates with sharper dialogue/female voices.

What would you guys recommend, new or secondhand that i could look at? Preferably bookshelves and a nice sub but might consider smaller floorstanders that dont mind a smaller room. ie. 6x3m
I have a budget of around R12-R20k

One set that has grabbed my attention so far is the Q-Acoustics Cinema 2000 package. What Hi-Fi rates it as best in its class. I have contacted HiFi Connection to try set up a demo

Any opinions on this or would it be too great a "downgrade"?

All suggestions are welcome
Thanks in advance
