I could not resist the opportunity to build a T-Rex.... the customary whiskey bottle changed hands and the ball started rolling..
I have been gathering components for the last few weeks and soldering away for the last few days, this is where I am to date.
The boards are coming along well, just missing 2 x 1K resistors 4 x 10uf caps & 2 x 63uf caps and something else not sure what, will need to remember what that is.. I have the rest. :EGrin:
The one op-amp socket is wrong way round.. but I'll put the op-amp in correct way. Too fiddly to remove those.
I discovered I have a pair of fancy Mills 5W 4R7 I had bought for a speaker XO, but I'll have to use them on the outputs instead.
The giant transformers are in the house, as the rand weakens I hope the copper price stays constant against the USD, I'll think of them as an investment ..
The "heat sinks"... 12 x 280 x 70mm aluminiul plus 5 x 50 x 200mm copper spreaders (3KG in total). I hope enough, judging from what I felt on Johan's I think it will be good as this will be connected to an aluminium case which will join in on heat dissipation duties.. will need to do some good filing on those edges, I have already cut the thumb quite nicely. see the size of the transformers.. 14cm more than enough.
