I have the Tascam MD 801r - Lately the eject mechanism has started playing up. I have had the belt replaced but it still sticks now and again - Does the eject tray metal parts maybe need a bit of lubrication - I was thinking of using something like CRC 2-26 applied with an earbud sprayed with the lubricant where metal parts slide over each other.
I currently use a plastic spoon handle to coax it out when it sticks.
Any advise would be appreciated - possibly from KenT Kassler or someone else that knows these older beauties.
My old Tascam DAT recorder also had a tray issue - new belt did not work until I managed to source an original one from a guy in Germany - since then, no issues whatsoever - but he seems to have disappeared from eBay.
