Hi
So I've recently bought a Technics SA-EH760 off of Gumtree, and for the most part it works fine. CD's play beautifully. The problem is that if I connect, say, my iPad to the AUX(DVD) in, or into the VCR(EXT) RCA inputs at the back, I generally have to turn the volume at least 10dB higher to hear something decent. The bigger problem is, that with or without RCA cables into those inputs, I hear an audible hiss on the speakers (no music playing, just volume turned up). The left speaker has a little more hiss than the right. If the input is CD, then the hiss only becomes audible at very high volumes (no music playing, just the volume knob turned up).
Any ideas on what I could do to troubleshoot this?
The speakers are all wired properly (I triple checked), although the cable quality is questionable.
Cheers
