Recently acquired a decent Technics SU 610 and I got around to hooking it up last night. Everything seems to work fine (seems to have a very decent phono stage too!!), except the volume is very scratchy.
Ive searched through previous posts and tried some switch cleaner....I initially thought that this worked, but as soon as I plug in any component to an input the scratchiness gets bad again...
So, first question is, is it possibly some other issue?
Secondly, am I applying the cleaner correctly? I did about 2 to 3 short squirts from both inside the amp onto the volume pot. Tried from outside as well after pulling the knob off. IS this enough of cleaner? Do I need to really really flood it? Any other suggestions?
