This made my day!
Some time ago, we decided to get internet at the new place. We have the luxury of choosing both Telkom ADSL or Vuma fibre. We chose the former, as it is a few hundred bucks cheaper per month.
So the technician came over to our house, naturally while we were there. However, as the doorbell was broken, he had no way of announcing his presence.
So he had to drive all the way back to Telkom HQ, just to phone my dad to tell him that he had no airtime (yes, he actually said it!), and also to assure him that he was on his way.
The irony just kills me! An employee of a telecommunications company doesn't have airtime! Better yet, he drove a really nice modern Ford Ranger. No doubt a company car.
We all had a good laugh
