Noooo...it's not another bit of wishful daydreaming from Randy Andy
A few hours ago when it was still Monday, I was busy with correspondence and the moll was marking schoolbooks or something.
We suddenly heard an almighty bang and I grabbed a torch and baton. No-one breaking in and after we checked all the rooms, I went into the garage. My garage door was wide open (it was of course closed last time I looked).
The sturdy lever bolted to the door and connected to the chain mechanism of my door opener was severely buckled and twisted and the nylon locking mechanism snapped off.
In an earlier post, I wrote that I repaired the opener motor and a technician adjusted the opening and closing sequence after which everything worked perfectly for the last few weeks.
What do you think could have happened here? Did the opener motor start all by itself? Could it have been triggered by a mains power spike? Did a robber hobbian use a remote to open my door?
The technician I eventually found a few weeks ago knows what he's doing and was very careful with how the opener was adjusted after my motor repair. I re-fitted the opener's cover some weeks ago as everything worked fine.
I haven't yet looked at the adjusting cams which activate the opening and closing sequence by means of trip switches but something must have activated the motor...
