Yes I know, car audio and quality don't always go hand in hand, but I've been set a challenge that will hopefully show that decent sound can be installed in a car.

The challenge though is to keep things affordable and practical.

On the practicality side no metal panels are to be cut - I will be able to return the car to absolutely standard when removing the system- access to everything that is accessible before the installation - spare wheel, lamps for lights, storage areas in the boot etc- will be maintained and the system has to take up minimal boot space.

To keep the system affordable every piece of equipment going in to the car I either already had, or was obtained second hand.
This includes power cabling, speaker cables, speakers and CD player.

The installation itself is being kept simple and it has to take no more than one weekend, although here I am cheating a little by roping in a friend who's one of the best car audio installers in the country.

For those with the patience or Google skills, the equipment list includes.
SoundStream DaVinci 7 channel amplifier
USD Audio C1 Waveguides
RCF Mobile Reference mids
Morel Elate sw10 woofer

The process of the installation will be featured in Speed and Sound Magazine.
