This follows on another thread on the Music Mask.
I can't believe I'm gonna admit to this on this forum, but here goes. The Music mask, where can I get one !
I listen to music with eye shades and yep, and this ONLY works on stereo, good recording + a good amp, CD and speaker combination, and I can personally vouch that blocking out all light sources, (eyelids are not enough) does improve the "look and feel" of the sound and sound stage.
Look, its psychological - try it sometime, this really works.
The reason this works is because brain shuts down certain parts when it receives visual stimuli. Block out all visual stimuli, which humans rely on heavily, and the brain hightens the sensetivity of other senses - hearing becomes more accurate. You don't just hear the music, but SEE the perfomance. Of course this doesn't work if the Hi Fi is not half way decent.
