Hello Forumites
So most of us know that to get the best sound is to have your listening position in the perfect triangle to your speakers. In the "Get Better Sound" book it mentions that you should sit a bit further away from your speakers. I can't remember the exact calculations now but I still prefer the perfect triangle.
In a dedicated listening room this is possible but in a normal rectangular lounge this is nearly impossible if you have to add coffee tables and couches. It's definitely not space friendly to have this kind of setup. My lounge is 3.7m X 6m and for room acoustics it's best to have your setup so that you face the shortest wall. A while ago I moved my setup around to face the longest wall. Doing this I could place the speakers further apart and I had a massive sweet spot and could actually sit on a couch while listening .......normally the coffee table is my sweet spot :groovy:.
Moving the lounge around permanently will be quite painful (in-ceiling speakers and cables in the roof mostly) but I think I'm going to do it. I think the perfect triangle listening position is the most important setup rule. If you don't get that right then everything else seems pointless.
Anyone else with the same experience or had to move your lounge around just to get the triangle working?
