Hi all
In a bout of curiosity, I unplugged and opened the amplifier to see what lurked inside. Surprisingly, it looked in far better shape than I expected considering the design is probably close to 20 years old. I was mighty impressed by the board layout even though I haven't a clue what most of these things are(one of the reasons why I'm sharing these pictures). Also noted that everything is very clearly labeled(e.g. live, spare mains fuse, etc). Any info will be appreciated.
The board. Bottom, on the right of the barcode is the spare mains fuse. Do they still include stuff like this or is it a case of they don't make them like they used to?
Capacitors. My electronics knowledge is dangerous but can someone elaborate on why we have two big ones and two small ones.
In front of the heat sink. What are the eight brown 'things'? What's the 4 round things at the back?
In front of the two speaker binding posts...What?
Transformer, torroidal? This thing is heavy, you pick the amp up and it just tilts to one side.
What it looks like...
