Thirteen s Early Birds! The idea to this thread (and kind of concept) came to me on a very early sunday morning. How to make a real change? How can we reach more Music Lovers and HiFi Enthusiats? How can we launch or introduce exciting new -or famous and established known brands. My observation so far - the "HiFi Scene" in South Africa is very much alive, very knowledgable and its a small society where everybody seems to know everybody  - but very very slow on the other hand...almost dead when it come to "move things....".

I m not a good talker or writer (especially not in english  ;) ). I always been on the "to Do" side of Life and we - Joel and I - are about to
do things radical different to how it was  - and how it is.

HiFi products in general are far too expensive in this country. The rules of the market are first world but the conditions and enviroment are definitiv 3rd world. But the manufaturas are too far to understand OUR particular situation and maybe SA as a market is not really
important to them.
It starts with the "floating currency" - a Rand which is weak - and ll gets weaker by itself - opposite to currencies like USD, EURO and GBP which getting stronger and stronger. Parallel to these circumstances it looks like no one want to make a change - the manufactura treats the world as ONE country and market, the Importer imports and follows an old schemata to calculate how they always calculate. The dealers asking (and needing) a certain margin to survive and make money.
Funny enough...on this level of "Business" they all can agree - except those which we want make to show interest and make to buy.
The Industry is about to forget about "their market" - ME, YOU - US.
Sometimes it gets even absurde... by considering that sales under these conditions are low and slow they even raise the prices to make at least more money on lower sales.

Something is wrong here - dont you think?  And we are not talking about Quality yet..... we are only talking about the circumstances - the business. Quality is another topic to discuss....

I think its time TO DO something different - and we can and we will. Maybe there is even a chance to turn a very bad situation to sell & buy Hifi products into a very good, exciting situation where South Africa will become a "Buyers Market" - better products, better prices of real brand and maybe even cheaper than in Europe or the US.

Do you like this vision? I hope many of you will discuss this with Joel and me. The actual Early Bird of the IDA8 is only the start to something exciting. Do we deal with pears and apples? No we have strong brands like rega, Tannoy, Nu Prime and some other truly High End brands.

I look forward to an endless discussion with all of you. Suggestions, Critics and YOUR WISHES are very welcome.
What do you think? Shall we turn SA into a HiFi Paradies?

Please guys...dont let me die in a monologue ;)    Lets work on something different.....
