I need to sing the praises of someone I have never met.

I own an 8-ton Toyota Hino that went idle because it's main contract provider went insolvent. I had to find a place to park it, and I got a place on the internet called Storage Locker. They provide storage lockers, container storage and truck parking on a plot down south. I called them to ask if the truck could be parked there, they said fine, so I found a driver to deliver it. I've never seen the place or its owner, Steyn Roets.

He called me to say that the truck was there, and safe, and he mailed me their bank details and contract. Two weeks later he called me to ask if I could please complete the contract and return it to him. Two weeks after that I phoned him as I couldn't remember if I had paid him or not. I hadn't, so I did. A week after that he phoned me to ask if it was OK if he charged the truck's battery, which was fine.

This morning I phoned him to say that a driver would collect the truck for a load. He called me back to say the diesel was low, and he had 50 litres on hand, should he throw it in? Fine. When the driver arrived, he phoned me to say the driver had no money for diesel, could he give him R250? Please, yes.

So the truck is now off his premises, and he has made me a loan of almost R1000 based just on trust. He checked the truck's battery, charged it, checked it's tyres and diesel, topped it up and loaned the driver, all without being asked.

I am just amazed that he thought to check the truck out, that he felt it was necessary even though I had never asked him to, that he communicated with me when he felt action was needed, and that he is prepared to be R1000 out of pocket for someone he has never even met, with no collateral or hold over the truck.

What a man!

So if you need to store something or park something, call Steyn. I have no hesitation in recommending him.
