Had the opportunity Yesterday to give this Little beauty a spin so to speak.

Boy was I surprised it realy is a very fine performer. I have been contemplating upgrading my Phone Stage for a while now.
Have tried a number of Stages and have yet to find anything in my budget of +- R4,000  that comes close or even betters my current one
Being a Musical Fidelity XLPS V3.  which I seem to recall cost me over R4,000 about 7 years ago.

Is the Thorens better than the Musical Fidelity well here is the surprise in some ways yes and in some ways no.  I would call it a tie, Toss a coin, it is the only Stage I have tried so far, that matches the Musical Fidelity.  All the others I have tried in the price range so far, have been disappointing.

I also have A Cambridge Audio 651P. The Musical Fidelity and the Thorens are defiantly a step up from the Cambridge by a noticeable margin.  All the others I have tried so far in the price range, have been + - in the same league as the Cambridge.

This Thorens Phono stage is in the same price range as the Cambridge so to me it is a no brainier.  (Amazon Price)  Thorens 220 English Squid - Cambridge 234 Squid.

There is one for sale at present on the Forum brand new for R4,000 with Guarantee which is a bargain,
So if you are looking for a phone stage, this one for sale on the Forum is defiantly worth considering. You will kick yourself if you miss it.
Over 6 grand normal local price.
