Today I will receive my new Mac Mini, 10 years from when I purchased my 1st Mac Mini Late 2012 Server Edition with Hybrid SSD/HDD and an additional 1TB HDD.
The old one was an i7 with 16GB of RAM and an upgraded OS to a 512 SSD.

The new M1 Mac Mini is said to be WAY BETTER than the outgoing 2018 model that sports Intel CPU. (Intel still trumps the M1 for Graphics Editing as you can expand to 64GB RAM and run external GPU and the new M1 has only factory secured Unified Memory and Fixed SSD. (There are good expansion options for the M1 Mac Mini via the use of USB Docks that one can add M.2 SSD to and others for SATA/SSD)

It will be interesting in the audio sense to see how this compares to my 10th Gen i5 / 16GB RAM / NVME M.2 256GB SSD with a second 1TB SATA SSD when running Roon Server.
This weekend I'll do back to back - Ok, will need to recreate the Database each time because one can only run Roon as a server on one device at a time.
Having moved Roon from my 2012 Mac Mini to a dedicated NUC running ROCK in Linux was a massive improvement in functionality and audio quality.

If there is anyone else running Mac Mini's for Music Server, be it J River or other, please give your experience with these SFF PC's.
Also, I'd love to hear from anyone that has the M1 Mac Mini and has possibly purchased a Dock for expansion.
