Dear Turntable Fundis,
I have a very nice Onkyo Integra CP-1055F that I am trying to fix up.
However, after much trouble shooting, I discovered that the headshell pin inside the arm tube
(inside the bigger red circle to the right of the picture) for the Left channel (number 2 in the picture) has broken off, and is not there any longer.
The headshell has the female side, and inside the armtube is the pin (male side). This pin is gone.
So now my question: how do I fix this?
1. Can I insert a new pin into the plastic plug that fits into the armtube? If so, where do I get such a pin?
2. Can I move the L and R + channels (1 and 2 in the picture) to the L and R earth (3 and 4 in the picture) and then bridge the L and R earth from the cart to go to only one pin in the armtube, i.e. Pin 1? Remember, there is no Pin 2 any more.
3. Do I just remove all the pins, drill through the armtube plug and the headshell neck, and run one continuous run of armtube wire directly from the cartridge into the turntable?
4. Any other ideas?
All advice greatly appreciated.
Johan
