My TT is reaching the "I may need a new belt" stage, it is stretched... the motor is freestanding so I have been moving it out to take up the slack, so possibly not an issue. New belt is $85...gulp. So I thought I would try make one
..
Bought some 1.5mm rubber for O rings, some superglue. It works 100%.. I now definitely now have more torque. I'll give it a spin & see if I can pick up a difference and whether I feel I need to splash out on the original.
I suspect the original belt is made from some magical rubber which is not available to mere mortals. New ones are available from E-Bay for less, but are they more "real" than mine, I would not risk it.
Anyone else tried the DIY belt?
