Hey Chaps - I'm very new to Vinyl - I know they look like black laserdiscs....
I recently bought a project debut 3 and a musical fidelity phono box and some nice albums - all from fellow forum members who really helped me - thanks.
My reason for getting Vinyl is more nostalgic than looking for perfection - it's the sitting down and listening to full tracks on alums I haven't heard in years, seems more intimate while listening than my digital stuff and demands more of my attention...
Here is my question.......
The vinyl setup seems to be lacking in bass - I compare it to CDs I've converted to FLAC running through the squeezebox box - start the tracks at the same time and switch - and there is a difference.
I know the Pro-ject is using a OM 5e - which I think is the bottom range cart you can get - could it be the cart or is this just one of the characteristics of a cheaper Vinyl setup ? Or perhaps PCM vs analogue input ?
Any ideas...my eyes are wide open to listen....
Cheers
