Let me start like this ---- I know nothing about valves. Except that many audio devices that use them sound pretty amazing. And they look like over engineered bulbs. And there's one in my DAC. And...thats about it.  :-\

I've had the Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 for about 6 months now. It ships standard with a Chinese 6N3 tube but you can upgrade to a GE5670W tube for an extra $20 straight from the manufacturer. I decided to go with the standard and later to mess around a bit with upgrading/rolling tubes. The time is now and I got a couple of valves off eBay. One of which is the GE5670 valve.

Tonight I pried open the D1 and took the 6N3 valve out. Then I realized it is quite a bit bigger than the GE I'm about to replace it with. Is this right?? What if it is not the valve I want.....will it be fatal?

Pins seem to fit...is that any indication that they valves match or did they not think along those lines when valve started?

Here's a list of valves that have been tried with the TubeMagic:

This is what I bought:
5670 Lots of tubes G.E. and Sylvania

Thanks in advance for your advice!
