Read this on Facebook. Funny but with some merit to it. Enjoy :giggle:

Tubes vs Transistors analogy......

Imagine two pictures taken of the same scene. Up closer to you is the subject of the picture. A beautiful girl for example. The first picture has a shallower depth of field, You can clearly and sharply see the girl, but in the distance behind her, things are slightly out of focus and don't detract from the subject in your picture. You get to enjoy the intended subject without background distraction. This is a tube amplifier. It colours the sound with its smoother roll offs, bokeh.

The second photo is sharp and focused, both the subject and the background. While you can see the beautiful girl as in the other photo, you can also see much more clearly the background picture too. In the background of this picture, is her  father with a beer gut, missing teeth, tattoos on his face, a clenched fist, and a snarl,... he's looking at you.
It could be argued that this picture (transistor amp) is far more accurate in its delivery, however the shallow depth of field of the tube amp is far more appealing.  :)
