Kenwood UD-9

If I'm in the wrong section please tell me witch one to go to. I have my dad's old UD-9 but I am getting a tad bit worried about the tuner display because it has become very dim, not unreadable but dim and the one section has stereo, auto and tuned on it, tuned flickers as well as the 3 mentioned above so I need to know if the display dies is there a possible solution?
