I have recently acquired an AKAI AP-Q60 which I was going to use as a spare TT in the garage.
I fixed it up, new RCA cable, headshell and cart, cleaned the switches etc and my first LP played at high speed !!
I checked with a separate strobe that 33 is running a bit faster than 45 and 45 is even faster.
I have cleaned all the pots on the motor board and adjusting them makes absolutely no difference to the speed at all.
Adjusting all pots to their extremes, switching Quartz lock in and out and tweaking the pitch control, all do absolutely nothing and the speed does not vary at all.
Any advise from the experts for a cheap fix ?
If not, its dustbin time but I'll keep the lid hinges ;D
Thanks.
Tony
