Two questions, quite possibly covered before, but a revisit might be nice.

The main wall of my TV room had a large window, for both convenience and security reasons I've now bricked this up.

Now my plan, is to hang the TV on the wall and get the guys to chase the wall for the installation of a 2 X 4 box (maybe 4 X 4),  with 2 X 25mm  conduits down to the floor to cater for a power cable in one and HDMI cable in the other.

My First Query

My research seems to show that most casings are roughly 17  -20 mm, thus this indicates that 25mm should be adequate for an HDMI plug casing, but I was wondering if anyone could give some feedback on their experiences?

I looked at using 32mm conduit, but the builder is a little tentative about something so thick.

My Second Query

There are various resources pointing out the correct heights for a TV on a wall, this also dictates (to some degree) where the 2 X 4 box should be as to ensure that it remains covered.  Again, what is the experience of the forum members?  Bear in mind also that my current set is a 40" model, next year this space will likely have a 55"

Disclaimers

I would HAPPILY install a projector, however the wife (who to be quite honest is pretty tolerant of my AV/HiFi type stuff), has pretty much vetoed that idea.  :angrywife:
The builder should have catered better for this, however he forgot.  To give him his due, he does his work well,  neatly and timeously so I'm going to forgive this blunder.
Of course, time is limited, I'm at work and I need to make these decisions!  :nfi:

Any input would be appreciated.
