I was getting itchy fingers during the lockdown and thought I'd try expanding my French collection of radios. The local version of Gumtree is called "Leboncoin" (The good corner).
I picked up two oldies without brand markings for 30 Euro from a guy not far from me.
This is going to be a challenge because it's going to be hell trying to identify them and finding a schematic for each one.
Here they are:
I have started working on the upper model, which I will designate UFO-1 (Unidentified French Object 1).
The seller told me that he managed to switch it on but it didn't always power up, and it could receive a local Longwave station.
This is a good sign but not much of one because said station is so close and so powerful that it will probably also play in your teeth fillings if you're just right..
Here's a close up of UFO-1's dial plate.
GO = Longwave, PO = Mediumwave, OC = Shortwave. It also has a phono selection. Upper right window is the band select indication, upper left is the magic eye.
The knobs are weird (ie. French): from left to right ON/OFF and Tone knob (!!), Volume, Tuning, Band select.

6 Tubes: 6E8(MG), 6K7(MG), 6H8(MG), 6V6, 6V4, 6AF7. All American tubes
The speaker is the electromagnetic type and looks to be in good condition.
Lots of dirt in there..
The first order of business is to get the chassis out of the cabinet and employ the services of the vacuum cleaner!
