UHF 440-460 mhz amplfier?(GNSS Rtk Surveying)

I am using a Trimble base station receiver that transmits only 2 watt on a 440.5000 mhz uhf band. The problem I encounter is to survey large areas as the current setup is not strong enough.

My question is can I add a external amplifier to say 40watt to increase my range and penetrating abilities?
