Hi,
New to HT and to AV receivers. I bought my first receiver, a Yamaha RX-V671 a few weeks ago on a trip to Germany. THe hi-fi shop around the corner from the hotel had a sale and I thought well, if I can fit it into my suitcase....
The main concern I have though with my setup now, is the fact that I need to run the Yamaha at what I consider high volumes before I get appreciable output through the speakers.
Initially i had just a pair of Boston CR85s hooked up as front left and rights, and I would have to crank the volume to around -18db to get it decently loud. It was the equivalent on using my Samsung Smart TV to around 40. This is pretty loud in my view.
Is this about right? With my Cambridge 340 stereo amp, the Bostons got up to about halfway and it was really loud!
Do I have to readjust my sense of scale for AV receivers with respect to volume?
