Upgrade question

I have an opportunity to change my phonostage from the Clearudio Smart Phono to the valve-based EAR 834P Signature Phono phonostage. I am hoping that with the possibility of some tube-rolling there will be more opportunities for experimentation. Is anyone familiar with the Ear phonostage?
