I am busy trying to again build up my home theatre after moving rooms for a 3rd time. My room is wider than it is deep. (6,5m x 5,5m). I wish to create a rear wall sound-field similar to the front. Left + centre + Right speakers on the rear wall (and maybe for Atmos on the ceiling and even similar on the side walls).
So I was wondering about running the L rear and R rear from the processor into an old Dolby Pro Logic processor and then from pre-outs into power amps and then into the speakers on the rear wall. Then the DPL algorithm can be used to balance L + C + R on the side wall (and perhaps Atmos on ceiling, and maybe side walls)
Has anyone tried this? What do you think? No merit? Crazy? how crazy?
