Using Mouse wires for turntable

Hi All

I need some help please, I have an old turntable that I need to rewire, I read on a post here some time ago that it is acceptable to use the wires from a mouse. In desperation this morning I went out and bought the best mouse I could find. See pic below. After smashing the mouse open I discovered that none of the wires is long enough?

Mouse is ruined now !
