One of those questions that, once answered, I would love to be able to erase from the forum :-[ but anyway, here goes:
Hardware comprises newish iMac, positively archaic ( 12 yr old ) Sony Plasma TV, Denon 2900 DVD, Pioneer VSX AX5i, " refurbished " PS3 and around 700 DVD's.
I would like eventually to join the modern age and acquire a media player ( Mede8er?) and " rationalise " my DVD collection.
Questions:
1. Is getting the movie onto the media player as simple as inserting it in the Mac disc drive and copying it to the desktop and then to the player? ( sorry, as I said, BASIC questions ;D) or does one need a special program to do this?
2. Once on the media player, will I be able to connect player to PS3 and play through that or should I connect to the AVR ( unfortunately also an archaic Pioneer VSX AX5i)?
Any other or better suggestions? I have managed to get most of my cd collection on a music server and the ease of that has convinced me to do the same for my movies.
