I don't know how many of you gents have had the pleasure of visiting The Listening Room in CT, but I would strongly suggest you make a plan to pop in if you haven't yet. And I'm sure Rod wouldn't throw you out if you're not there to buy something...
What a relaxed vibe, not to mention the shiny toys lurking about, impatiently waiting to be switched on. Very nice decor - personal touches everywhere, not too arty, and aimed at make you feel at home. So glad I finally stopped by yesterday... :Whoohoo:
Rod, if you're reading this: thanks for the chat, making me feel at home as well as sharing your knowledge (and some secrets!). You opened my eyes (or is it ears :winkwink: ) with those 1C Vandersteens; man, what beautiful music they made - without even being set up properly or run-in, and on 'cold' valve mono blocks to boot. Have to admit that, whilst nursing a semi with the one hand, I was clutching my credit card in the other sweaty hand, desperately trying to resist the urge to make the set mine. Just as well I didn't succumb;the wife would have moer'd me...
Thanks for offering me a good deal, they are not that far out of reach budget wise - I might just come spend the money in the not too distant future.
Best of luck with the business as well as the mission to get more people into the wonderful world of vinyl.
