Vibration - So easy to ignore the impact on sound quality

This weekend I cleaned out my 'workshop' and found some dense sample rubber which I promptly cut into 4 blocks and placed underneath the feet of my 15 kg CD player that is placed on a 20 kilo marble slab that lies upon 4 dense foam blocks. 

Much to my surprise I could 'hear' a sound difference. More smaller detail and a massive improvement in base quality.  Quite a surprise when I had thought everything was pretty well insulated against vibration.

And what a super cheap upgrade !
